Golden Globe Awards 2016 Best Dressed Ladies

Now that we’ve seen all the glamorous looks hit the Golden Globes 2016 red carpet, we’ve listed our top 10 style moves below.

1. Lady Gaga in Versace

For the past five years, we’ve declared Lady Gaga’s style “exhausting.” But this whole Old Hollywood thing she’s working on the red carpet recently has made me totally rethink my position. This gorgeous, sculptural velvet Atelier Versace gown, accented with a gazillion dollars of Neil Lane Jewels, is the pinnacle of reto glamour.

2. Jennifer Lopez in Giambattista Valli

*Googles Jennifer Lopez’s age* *Googles her skin regimen* *Googles her workout routine* *Googles her diet* *writes it all on a small piece of paper and eats it* Jennifer Lopez is a beautiful freak of a human being, which is why she can floor the general public regardless of whether she’s wearing next to nothing or a caped Giambattista Valli gown with a very high neck. Also, 200 carats of Harry Winston diamonds.

3. Zendaya in Marchesa

If there’s a red carpet, rest assured Zendaya will be there dressed as one of the best. Her tiered burgundy gown is another look that’s sure to be filed into her archive of on-point carpet moments. Luckily, this is the beginning of awards season and there are plenty more of these to come.

4. Laverne Cox in Elizabeth Kennedy

White was a very popular color on the red carpet, but Laverne Cox’s sleek, yet totally dramatic- that train!!! – caught our attention. She added a pop of color with emerald earrings and a berry lip, which added a little something, without distracting from the dress.

5. Jennifer Lawrence in Dior

At this point, if JLaw showed up to an awards show in a shower curtain, we think we’d all probably still be into it. But she didn’t. This is Dior. Surprise, it looks great.

6. Julianne Moore in Tom Ford

There just isn’t a cooler high-fashion friendship out there than the one between Tom Ford and his muse Julianne Moore. When they team up, it’s a given that the look will be a hit. This custom sapphire-blue creation hits the perfect note for Moore: When you’re last year’s winner, it’s not all about you and your red carpet choices have to reflect that. This dress is just show-stopping enough, thanks to tactful sparkles, a bold color that pops against her red hair and my personal favorite element of the dress, the asymmetrical neckline. It’s like she and Tom are ever-so-slightly hinting at the ubiquitous choker-gown trend but making it look grown-up.

7. Taraji P. Henson in Stella McCartney

We’re all so glad that Taraji finally got the recognition she deserves for her role as Cookie, but was anyone else scared that she would get melted chocolate chip stains on that pristine Stella McCartney? Thankfully, that didn’t happen and her slammin’ aesthetic remained untainted.

8. Brie Larson in Calvin Klein Collection

It’s hard to believe this is was Brie Larson’s first Golden Globes. From her sexy sparkly custom Calvin Klein Collection dress, which was hand-embroidered with topaz crystal, to her sleek straight strands, everything about her look was a high-fashion home run. We’re excited to see what sort of dazzling looks she’s got in store for the rest of award show season! Bring it on, Brie!

9. Melissa McCarthy in custom Melissa McCarthy Seven7

Not only was Melissa McCarthy’s metallic dress was one of the standouts of the night, it was also one of her own designs. She told Vogue, “I’ve always been obsessed with the drape and sex appeal of certain 1970s dresses. The second we saw that metallic panne velvet, we all thought kimono dress.” We are so glad you did, Mel.

10. Katy Perry in Prada

Katy Perry went big for her first Golden Globes, particularly in the hair department. Katy and her hair benefitted from the assistance of a Bumpit, but her plunging, pink, Prada gown ain’t too shabby either. If she and Jennifer Lawrence want to hang out on all red carpets, we’d be cool with that.
