When you think of Mississippi music artists, names like David Banner, Faith Hill, Brandy, and the Legendary B.B. King immediately come to mind. Well there is a new Star on the rise from West Point, Mississippi, the Hottest R&B Sensation of the new era.

Jermaine “JKell” Kelley was born and raised in West Point, Mississippi, the oldest of three children. JKell got his start singing in the Church of Christ of Starkville, Mississippi. He was the lead of the church youth group. At the age of 13, JKell lost his grandmother to whom he was very close and who was one of his biggest supporters. That tragedy lead JKell to write his first song, “ANGEL.” He has been writing and pursuing his career ever since in her memory.

In 2007 JKell was nominated for the Best New Male R&B Artist in North Carolina’s Prestigious Underground Music Awards. At that point JKell knew that he had to take his music career to the next level. Since releasing his debut hit single “Scream,” JKell has already garnered over 100,000 downloads.  His single -How Deep Is Your Love- is in the top 5 R&B ringtones download on Myxer.com with over 400,000 downloads. In a recent interview he was quoted as saying, “Music is a powerful art form that’s not being used to its fullest potential.” With JKell’s passion for music, he will do his part to make that kind of sound with his soulful harmonies that are already loved by so many.

JKell has been writing and performing his style of music in clubs and venues all around the world in places such as Italy, The United States, and Japan. It was in 2008 at one of JKell’s performances that he shared the stage with one of Hip-Hop’s Greatest Rappers, M.C. Shan.

While touring in Japan, JKell was involved in numerous charity events which raised over $20k to assist the victims of the 2011 earthquake that happened in Japan.

In 2012 , He was nominated for several awards at the Lawless Radio Awards held in Atlanta, Ga.  He was selected as “Top Artist” and his Ballad – How Deep is Your Love-  was selected as ” Best Ballad”.

With an every growing fan base eager to hear more from JKell. He considers himself to be a trendsetter hopefully paving the way for others to follow. His motto is “Live to dream, but don’t ever stop dreaming to live,” which means you should always keep striving to reach your goals.

He plans to tour in 2013 in the U.S and also release his 2nd album.
